Made in the British Isles. Solid sterling silver pendant featuring subtlety coloured symbols representing the seven chakras of our bodies through which the life-force, prana energy flows. The yogic rituals and meditative discoveries of many eastern philosophies are aided by mandalas featuring this radiant symbology.

This large, sterling silver mandala measures 2.9cm, which is well over an inch in diameter and weighs approximately 20g. It was hand carved from wax which had a mould taken from it. It was then cast in solid silver and given a hallmark, by the assay office, to prove the purity of the silver.

The mandala pendant was coated with platinum, then multiple colours of patina were applied to the pendant.

Mandalas (Sanskrit for circles) in Hindu and Buddhist Tantrism, are symbolic diagrams used in the performance of sacred rites and as an instrument of meditation.
In Jungian psychology a mandala as a symbol in a dream, represented the dreamer's search for completeness and self-unity.

To create this piece I have utilized some of the oldest skills still used in jewellery and silversmithing. The original mandala was hand carved from wax before having a mould taken from it. It was cast in solid sterling silver which was then reworked, for several hours, using traditional Goldsmiths' tools, to produce a very fine detail. It was then given a hallmark, by the assay office, to prove the purity of the silver.
