Deep in the archives of Canterbury Cathedral lays a mid-thirteenth-century folded parchment amulet for protection against all evil, said to be given to St. Columbanus by an angel.

The parchment of the amulet states, “Hoc signum dedit angelus domini sancto columbano episcopo siquis fidelis hanc figuram in qua scripta sunt nomina dei ineffabilia super se habuerit nulla uis dyaboli aduersus eum preualebit.”

Which partially translates as, “The angel of the Lord gave this sign to St Columbanus. If any of the faithful has upon him this seal, no power of the devil will prevail against him.”

Using this sacred artifact as a guide, I have designed an amulet for protection against evil. These silver amulet pendants have the seal from the Canterbury amulet on the front, and part of its sigil and text on the back.

The pendants measure 19.5mm in diameter, which is a little over three quarters of an inch. They are cast from solid sterling silver and are all finished, by hand, to fine jewellery standards. Each of the amulet pendants are hung on a sturdy, solid silver chain and are supplied in a recycled, and recyclable gift box.

Wearing a piece of Talisman Jack’s fine jewellery identifies you as someone who is capable of appreciating fine handicrafts. All of my silver jewellery is made from solid Sterling Silver (silver with a purity of at least 92.5%). It does not contain any lead or other harmful materials.
